About Kings Canyon

Kings Canyon History

Kings Canyon has a rich history, with the area being inhabited by the Luritja people for over 20,000 years. European explorers first arrived in the area in the late 19th century, with the canyon later being named in honor of Australian anthropologist Sir Baldwin Spencer’s son, Charles Kingsford Smith.
