Australian Country Music Hall of Fame
Honouring Australia's country artists
schedule 1 min read / Updated Jun 2026
The Australian Country Music Hall of Fame on Peel Street is the most comprehensive tribute to Australian country music in the country. Combining a permanent Hall of Fame with the Walk a Country Mile interactive exhibition, it traces the genre from its earliest days to the present through memorabilia, recordings, and personal artefacts donated by legends of the industry.
The Hall of Fame honours the artists, songwriters, and industry figures who have shaped Australian country music. Displays include handwritten notes by Smoky Dawson, Tex Morton's early recordings, Keith Urban memorabilia, Lee Kernaghan's signature hat, and Kasey Chambers' guitar. The self-guided format means visitors can linger over exhibits that resonate with them at their own pace.
The Walk a Country Mile interactive exhibition sits within the same complex. Named for a Slim Dusty song penned by Joy McKean, it takes visitors on a chronological journey through Australian country music history, blending video, audio, and physical memorabilia. It is particularly accessible for families, with interactive elements appealing to younger visitors who may be new to the genre.
The venue is wheelchair accessible throughout, with level entry and accessible amenities. Ample parking for cars, motorhomes, and coaches is available on site.
