The Cradle Mountain Visitor Centre at 4057 Cradle Mountain Road is the essential first stop for all visitors to the Cradle Mountain - Lake St Clair National Park. It is the hub for purchasing national parks passes and shuttle bus tickets, hiring the TrailRider all-terrain wheelchair, getting current track conditions, and catching the frequent hybrid-electric buses that run throughout the park to Dove Lake.

The visitor centre houses exhibits on the natural and cultural history of the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area, along with a cafe, accessible amenities, and a well-stocked information desk. Park rangers are on hand to advise on track conditions, weather forecasts, and walk options to suit all abilities. The TrailRider all-terrain wheelchair can be booked at no charge, making the park more accessible for visitors with mobility needs.

The shuttle fleet consists of purpose-built hybrid diesel-electric, low-floor, wheelchair accessible buses departing every 10 to 15 minutes in summer and every 15 to 20 minutes in winter. Buses stop at the Interpretation Centre and Ranger Station, Snake Hill, Ronny Creek, and Dove Lake, with the full one-way trip taking around 20 minutes. A 72-hour shuttle ticket costs $15 per adult and children travel free.

The visitor centre is open seven days a week including public holidays, with seasonal hours. A national parks pass must be purchased before entry to the park beyond the visitor centre.
