Perisher is the largest ski resort in the Southern Hemisphere, sprawling across four interconnected village areas, Perisher Valley, Blue Cow, Smiggin Holes and Guthega, in Kosciuszko National Park. With 45 lifts, more than 12 square kilometres of skiable terrain and a snow season typically running June through to the first weekend of October, it is the centrepiece of winter in the Snowy Mountains.
The resort's trail mix of beginner, intermediate and advanced terrain means there is something for every skill level, from first-timers on magic carpets to experienced riders tackling steep off-piste terrain. Perisher's extensive snowmaking fleet supplements the natural snowfall, giving the season reliable coverage. Night skiing, terrain parks, Nordic trails and a full range of lessons and hire are available on site.
Access is convenient from Jindabyne, about 35 minutes by road. Visitors can also arrive via the Skitube underground railway from Bullocks Flat terminal on the Alpine Way, which runs through to Perisher Valley and Blue Cow. The resort village has a broad range of accommodation, restaurants and retail outlets, and is particularly lively during July and August school holidays.
Lift tickets are priced per adult per day depending on date and advance booking. Park entry fees also apply in the winter season. The Monero-Ngarigo People are the Traditional Custodians of the land on which Perisher operates.
