Seppeltsfield
A century of living history
schedule 1 min read / Updated Jun 2026
Founded in 1851, Seppeltsfield is one of the world's only wineries to have released a wine from every single vintage for over 100 consecutive years. Perched among palm-lined drives and bluestone heritage buildings in the heart of the Barossa, visitors can taste their birth-year vintage, tour the historic Para Centennial Cellar, and explore a village of artisan producers, galleries, and dining all on one grand estate.
Seppeltsfield occupies a sweeping historic estate at the northern end of Seppeltsfield Road, a corridor described as Australia's greatest wine road. The centrepiece is the Para Centennial Cellar, where fortified wines from vintages dating back to the 1870s mature in row upon row of oak barrels, a sight unlike anything else in Australian winemaking.
Beyond the cellar door, the property has grown into a full-day destination. Fino restaurant serves seasonal Barossa produce in the old brandy distillery, while resident artisans occupy restored farm outbuildings. Walking trails connect the buildings through ornamental gardens planted with date palms that have stood for well over a century.
Cellar door experiences range from drop-in tasting flights to guided heritage tours and private barrel tastings. The signature experience allows visitors to taste a centennial vintage, a tawny fortified wine from the exact year they were born, drawn straight from the cask.
