Established by Jesuit priests in 1851, Sevenhill Cellars is the oldest winery in the Clare Valley and one of the oldest in South Australia. Set among heritage stone buildings on College Road, the cellar door pours a full range of estate wines in a setting that blends sacred history with fine winemaking. The attached St Aloysius Church and crypt remain open to visitors.

Sevenhill Cellars was founded by the Society of Jesus to produce altar wine for the Catholic missions of South Australia. More than 170 years on, it continues as a working winery, and the mission-era stone buildings, winery, church, and presbytery, are all heritage listed and open to explore.

The cellar door offers seated tastings across the Inigo and premium ranges, with platters built from locally sourced produce available to accompany your wines. The building's thick sandstone walls and original timber fittings make the tasting experience as atmospheric as the wine is good.

A short walk from the cellar door leads to the historic St Aloysius Church, where the crypt beneath houses the remains of the Jesuit brothers who shaped the region. It is one of the most quietly moving stops in the Clare Valley.
