Operated by a passionate team of volunteers, the Bellarine Railway runs heritage steam and diesel trains between Queenscliff and Drysdale along 16 kilometres of century-old track on the Bellarine Peninsula. The signature journey winds through coastal ti-tree scrub and farmland with views across Swan Bay to the You Yangs. It is one of the most scenic and lovingly maintained heritage railways in Victoria.

Queenscliff station, a charming 19th-century timber building, serves as the main departure point. The train to Drysdale and back takes passengers through landscapes little changed since the line opened in the 1880s. Steam locomotive days are especially popular and the scent of burning wood and steam is part of the experience.

Family packages are available, and toddlers under three years travel free. The railway also operates special event trains throughout the year, including the Q Train restaurant dining experience from Drysdale and seasonal events like the Polar Express.

The railway runs on selected dates, primarily weekends and school holidays. Online booking is recommended as trains fill quickly, especially for steam days and seasonal events. Walk-up tickets are available at the station on a first-come, first-served basis.
