Boroka Lookout
Sunrise panoramas over Halls Gap
schedule 1 min read / Updated Jun 2026
Perched at approximately 840 metres on the Mount William Range, Boroka Lookout is one of the highest accessible viewpoints in the Grampians and is celebrated for its eastward panoramas over Halls Gap township, Lake Bellfield, the Wonderland Range and the farmland plains beyond. A sealed 100-metre path from the car park reaches two viewing platforms in just five minutes.
Boroka is reached via Mount Difficult Road, around 15 kilometres from Halls Gap, and the sealed access road makes it one of the easiest high-altitude lookouts in the park to reach by car. The short, flat path to the platforms is suitable for wheelchairs and prams, and disabled-access toilets are located adjacent to the car park. Picnic tables are available for those who want to linger over the view.
The lookout faces east, which makes it a prime destination for sunrise. Halls Gap sits directly below in the valley, ringed by the sandstone ranges, and on clear mornings the view extends well onto the Wimmera plains. The contrast between the rugged mountain terrain and the open farmland is particularly striking from this elevation.
Coaches can stop at the car park, and the site is open around the clock. No booking is required and there is no entry fee. The lookout sits within Grampians (Gariwerd) National Park and is managed by Parks Victoria.
