Moonlit Sanctuary is a 10-hectare biopark at Pearcedale on the northern edge of the Mornington Peninsula, dedicated to the conservation of threatened Australian species. Visitors can hand-feed kangaroos and wallabies, pat koalas, and observe wombats, dingoes, reptiles, and over 70 native species in a natural bushland setting.

The park has won the Victorian Tourism Award for Ecotourism multiple times, reflecting its genuine commitment to conservation breeding programmes for species including the Eastern quoll and the feathertail glider. Daytime visits allow guests to roam the trails at their own pace, joining scheduled keeper talks and animal encounter sessions throughout the day.

After dark, the park transforms into one of Victoria's most unique experiences. Lantern-lit evening tours led by expert guides reveal the nocturnal world of potoroos, gliders, quolls, pythons, and other animals that emerge only at night. Evening tour bookings are essential as places are limited and sessions regularly sell out.

Moonlit Sanctuary sits approximately 50 minutes from Melbourne's CBD and is well signposted from the South Gippsland Highway. It makes a natural combination with a broader Mornington Peninsula itinerary or a day trip that continues to Phillip Island.
