The Pemberton Tramway is a privately operated heritage railway that carries passengers 10 kilometres through towering karri and marri forest to the Cascades, a picturesque series of forest pools and stream crossings. Running on a narrow gauge track originally laid to serve the timber industry, the tram departs from Pemberton Station and crosses three wooden bridges on its way south.

The return journey aboard a diesel hydraulic tram is narrated by the driver, who shares stories of the logging era, the forest ecology, and the wildlife that inhabits the karri canopy. The tram slows and stops at the Cascades, giving passengers time to explore the shaded pools and listen to the bush before returning to town. In spring the route passes through corridors of native wildflowers that bloom beside the track.

The tramway runs most days throughout the year, with additional services during school holidays. A one-way ticket option suits walkers who want to travel out to the Cascades and return along the Bibbulmun Track on foot, with a car transfer service available on request.

The station is located in the centre of Pemberton and tickets can be booked through the tramway's website. The journey is a relaxed and sheltered way to experience the karri forest, well suited to visitors who want a guided introduction to the landscape.
