Port Douglas Sunday Market
Local produce under the rain trees
schedule 1 min read / Updated Jun 2026
Every Sunday morning, Anzac Park at the bottom of Macrossan Street fills with more than 100 stalls spread beneath a canopy of century-old rain trees. The market blends fresh tropical produce, handmade arts and crafts, jewellery, clothing, wellness treatments, and street food with live music and ocean breezes, making it the social centrepiece of the Port Douglas week.
The stalls showcase local growers and artisans from across the Douglas Shire, with mangoes, pawpaws, and exotic tropical varieties sitting alongside handmade soaps, original paintings, and locally designed fashion. Wellness practitioners offer massage and natural therapies in the shade while food vendors serve everything from fresh coconuts to gourmet pastries.
The setting is genuinely lovely, the park overlooks the Coral Sea and the market operates from first light, meaning early arrivals enjoy cooler temperatures and first pick of produce. The atmosphere is relaxed and unhurried, and the site is flat, accessible, and free to enter.
The market runs every Sunday excluding Christmas Day, ANZAC Day, and selected closure months each year. It is managed by Douglas Shire Council and remains a genuine community institution rather than a purely tourist event.
