Beerenberg Farm
Pick strawberries, taste award-winning jams
schedule 1 min read / Updated Jun 2026
A working family farm just a short walk from Hahndorf's main street, Beerenberg has been growing strawberries and producing preserves since 1971. Its farm shop stocks the full range of jams, chutneys, relishes, and sauces made on the property, and from November to April visitors can pick their own strawberries straight from the patch, one of the most popular seasonal experiences in the Adelaide Hills.
The farm shop is open year-round and carries the entire Beerenberg product range, from classic strawberry jam to more unusual flavours like lemon curd and tomato chutney. The on-site cafe serves a seasonal menu with scones, fresh produce, and light meals, and the team runs regular tastings and cooking demonstrations. Free parking is available on site, and a bus stop sits right outside the farm shop entrance for those arriving by Adelaide Metro.
Strawberry picking season runs from November through April, though the patch can intermittently close if it has been picked out or weather conditions are unsuitable. The farm recommends checking availability before visiting specifically for picking. Outside picking season the farm shop and cafe remain excellent reasons to stop, and the relaxed rural setting makes for a pleasant contrast to the bustle of Hahndorf's main street just a few hundred metres away.
