Occupying an iconic heritage building on Wallaroo's main street, the Bond Store combines a microbrewery, gin distillery, and restaurant in one contemporary industrial space. The brewery's twelve taps pour exclusively house-brewed beers, while the cellar distillery below is home to Ginger, a 500-litre copper still that produces award-winning gins and liqueurs from small batches.
Bond Store opened in 2019 and quickly became one of the most talked-about regional dining and drinking destinations on the Yorke Peninsula. The ground-floor brewery bar and restaurant showcase stainless-steel fermentation tanks as centrepieces, with seating that suits a casual afternoon drink or a longer meal. The kitchen uses local produce and a custom-made parrilla charcoal grill to produce share plates and individually plated dishes that change with the seasons. Twelve taps rotate through all Bond Store house brews, ranging from pale ales to seasonal specials.
Downstairs, the cellar distillery produces gins and liqueurs that have won regional awards and are available for purchase to take home. The space is intimate and welcoming, designed for small groups keen to see the copper still up close. The Bond Store is open Thursday through Sunday, making it an ideal anchor for a long weekend on the Copper Coast. Bookings are recommended for the restaurant, especially over summer and public holiday periods.
