Set within Cleland National Park just 20 minutes from Adelaide, this beloved wildlife park lets visitors get hands-on with more than 130 species of Australian animals. Hand-feed free-roaming kangaroos, get up close with wombats and emus, and hold a koala at one of only a handful of places in the world where that experience is available to the public.

Cleland Wildlife Park has been welcoming families since 1967, and its setting among native eucalyptus forest gives encounters with animals a natural, unhurried quality. Wallabies wander freely through the grounds, while nocturnal species including owls and possums can be spotted in shaded enclosures. The park runs regular keeper talks throughout the day, giving visitors insight into conservation efforts for species like the hairy-nosed wombat and yellow-footed rock-wallaby.

Beyond wildlife encounters, the park sits at the gateway to a network of walking trails that connect to the Mount Lofty Summit and Waterfall Gully. A fully licensed cafe on site serves food and drinks, and picnic facilities are available throughout the grounds. The park closes on days of catastrophic fire danger, so checking the fire rating before visiting during summer is recommended.
