Fitzroy Falls is one of the Southern Highlands' most striking natural landmarks, where Yarrunga Creek plunges 81 metres into the sandstone gorge of Morton National Park. A well-maintained visitor centre, accessible lookout boardwalks, and a network of bushwalking tracks make it a rewarding day trip for visitors of all fitness levels.
The main lookout is wheelchair-accessible and reached by an elevated boardwalk from the visitor centre, delivering an immediate and spectacular view of the falls and the vast escarpment beyond. Several walking tracks of varying difficulty depart from the car park, including the West Rim Track and East Rim Track, which offer extended views over the Yarrunga Valley and opportunities to spot lyrebirds, wallabies, and numerous native bird species.
The Fitzroy Falls Visitor Centre is open daily and staffed by National Parks rangers who can advise on track conditions and seasonal wildlife activity. Facilities include accessible toilets, picnic tables, a coin-operated barbecue, and drinking water. The falls are located 18 kilometres from Moss Vale.
Entry is charged per vehicle rather than per person, keeping it an affordable outing for families. The park is best visited on clear days when the gorge views are unobstructed, though the falls flow most powerfully after significant rainfall.
