Set among the natural bushland between Halls Gap and Pomonal, Halls Gap Zoo is Victoria's largest regional zoo and home to over 120 species including rhinoceroses, giraffes, cheetahs, red pandas, Tasmanian devils and dingoes. Daily animal encounters, feeding sessions and broad grassed picnic areas make it a full-day destination for families visiting the Grampians.

The zoo occupies a generous bushland property south of Halls Gap and is well signposted. Pathways wind past enclosures housing African and Australian animals side by side, and visitors can purchase feed to hand to deer, kangaroos, wallabies, goats and Himalayan tahr in the walk-through areas. The layout is easy to navigate and wheelchairs are available to hire.

Paid animal encounters run daily and include close-up sessions with cheetahs, giraffes, meerkats, rhinos, red pandas and dingoes. These require advance booking and have minimum age requirements. The on-site cafe serves hot meals, snacks and drinks, and multiple shaded barbecue and picnic areas are scattered through the grounds for those who bring their own lunch.

The zoo is open every day except Christmas Day, from 10am to 5pm. The zoo is independently owned and operated, separate from Parks Victoria, and the entry fee supports animal welfare and habitat maintenance programs.
