Shadowfax Winery
Cellar door in Werribee Park
schedule 1 min read / Updated Jun 2026
Shadowfax Winery sits on K Road at the edge of Werribee Park, just 30 kilometres from Melbourne's CBD, combining a working cellar door with a destination restaurant in a striking contemporary building. Founded in 2000, the winery draws fruit from its Werribee vineyard as well as a high-altitude property in the Macedon Ranges.
The cellar door opens Wednesday through Sunday, giving visitors the chance to taste and purchase wines including Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir and the accessible Minnow range. The tasting room pairs well with a long lunch at the adjoining restaurant, which draws on seasonal produce and serves a menu focused on regional Victorian ingredients.
The architecture of the building is worth noting in its own right, an award-winning angular structure that sits in contrast to the heritage mansion and gardens on the same road. The location makes it a natural pairing with a visit to Werribee Park, the rose garden or the zoo, all within a short drive.
A surcharge applies on weekends and public holidays. No entry or tasting fee applies at the cellar door.
