Rising 720 metres above sea level at the crest of the Wonderland Range, The Pinnacle delivers a sweeping panorama over Halls Gap township, Lake Bellfield and the Mount William Range. Multiple routes suit different fitness levels, from a moderate climb out of Sundial Car Park to a challenging circuit from the town centre, making it the most popular walk in the Grampians.

The most direct route starts at Sundial Car Park and gains around 110 metres of elevation over roughly 2 kilometres, weaving through rocky woodland before opening onto exposed sandstone platforms. Chains and steel ladders assist on the steeper upper sections, and interpretive signs along the way explain the geology and the Jadawadjali and Djab wurrung connection to Gariwerd.

From Wonderland Car Park the ascent climbs 280 metres through the Grand Canyon gorge and Silent Street canyon, two of the most dramatic landforms in the park. This route takes around two to two and a half hours return and requires sturdy footwear as the track crosses boulder fields and slippery rock faces.

A full circuit from Halls Gap links Wonderland Car Park, the Pinnacle summit and Sundial Car Park in a loop. All routes are day use only, and dogs and fires are prohibited on the track.
