Capes Raptor Centre, originally established as Eagles Heritage in 1987, is Western Australia's largest care and rehabilitation facility for birds of prey. Set in native bushland 5 kilometres south of Margaret River, the centre is home to eagles, hawks, falcons, kites, and owls that cannot be returned to the wild, and offers daily encounter sessions guided by experienced wildlife handlers.

The Bird of Prey Encounter is the centrepiece of a visit, a guided session where handlers introduce individual birds, explain their hunting adaptations and behaviours, and allow guests to see them up close in a way that no wildlife documentary can replicate. Wedge-tailed eagles, peregrine falcons, and powerful owls are among the residents, each with their own rehabilitation story.

Between encounter sessions, visitors can take a self-guided walk through the forested sanctuary, stopping at individual aviaries to observe birds at rest. Interpretive signage throughout the walk covers raptor biology, native woodland ecology, and the conservation challenges facing birds of prey in south-western WA.

The centre is now operated by the Capes Foundation, the same not-for-profit body that manages the region's show caves. Entry fees directly support the ongoing care and veterinary treatment of the birds. Allow approximately 90 minutes for the full visit, including the encounter and the forest walk.
