Created by British artist Bruce Munro and first lit in 2016, Field of Light at Uluru is an immersive outdoor art installation that transforms the Red Centre desert into a sea of colour each night. More than 50,000 frosted glass spheres on slender stems pulse with ochre, violet, blue and white light across an area spanning more than seven football fields.

Guests enter the installation after dark and walk self-guided paths through the glowing field at their own pace. The experience runs for approximately one and a half hours and departs from Ayers Rock Resort by coach. The natural backdrop of open desert sky and, on clear nights, a brilliant Milky Way, adds to the atmosphere in a way that is difficult to replicate anywhere else in Australia.

Several ticket tiers are available. General Admission covers entry and coach transfer. The Star Pass adds canapes and beverages. The Uluru Dinner experience includes a three-course buffet, drinks, a star talk and a didgeridoo performance. Bookings are made through Ayers Rock Resort.

The installation has welcomed hundreds of thousands of visitors since opening. Prams are not permitted due to the uneven desert terrain. Children under two must be booked through the Voyages Travel Centre directly.
