Get Shucked is a waterfront oyster bar at Great Bay where Pacific oysters go from the farm lease in the D'Entrecasteaux Channel directly to your plate within hours. Relaxed, no-frills and walk-in only, it has become one of Bruny Island's most beloved food stops, earning awards for its combination of freshness, price and setting.
Natural oysters are served by the half-dozen or dozen, with optional house dressings, alongside cooked options including Kilpatrick and panko-crumbed styles. The lunch plate and chips round out a menu designed to let the oysters take centre stage. Fresh natural oysters are available right through to closing time.
No reservations are taken, and the casual outdoor seating fills quickly on weekends and during the summer holiday period. Get Shucked acknowledges it sits on the traditional land of the Nuenonne people and Palawa communities of Tasmania.
