Founded by Jim Barry in 1959, Jim Barry Wines is one of the Clare Valley's most celebrated family wineries, farming over 320 hectares across 17 vineyard sites. The cellar door on Craig Hill Road is the home of The Armagh Shiraz and The Florita Riesling, two of Australia's most sought-after wines. Tastings range from an introductory five-wine flight to rare multi-vintage experiences.

Jim Barry trained as one of South Australia's first qualified oenologists and spent his career building a wine estate that his children and grandchildren now run with equal dedication. The winery is known for its mastery of Clare Valley Riesling and cool-climate Shiraz, and its vineyards span elevations from the valley floor to high-altitude hillside blocks.

The renovated cellar door offers three tasting tiers: the Discovery flight covering five wines from the current range, the Immersion tasting for a deeper exploration of the portfolio, and the Collector tasting for a rare vertical of The Armagh Shiraz. Walk-in Discovery tastings are welcome without a booking; the other experiences require a reservation.

Jim Barry Wines was named James Halliday Winery of the Year in 2020 and also produces Australia's only Assyrtiko, a white variety native to Santorini that has found a surprising home in the Clare Valley's dry, rocky soils. The cellar door setting, looking out over estate vines, is one of the most handsome in the region.
