From August through to November each year, Naturaliste Charters runs eco-certified whale watching tours from Quindalup near Dunsborough, offering close encounters with humpback, southern right, blue, and minke whales as they gather and rest in the calm, warm waters of Geographe Bay. Tours depart aboard a purpose-built 23-metre catamaran with 360-degree ocean views and a marine scientist or naturalist guide on board.

Geographe Bay functions as a natural nursery and resting ground for humpback whales migrating between their Antarctic feeding grounds and the warm north-west waters where they calve. Naturaliste Charters has operated in these waters for decades and quotes a 99 per cent whale sighting success rate, backed by a free return trip guarantee if no whales are spotted. Tours run twice daily at 10:00am and 2:00pm, with a sunset departure added from mid-September through the end of November when demand is sufficient.

The operation holds eco-certification through Ecotourism Australia and holds strict approach guidelines to avoid disturbing the animals. On-board guides provide running commentary on whale behaviour - fluking, breaching, spy-hopping, and mother-calf interactions are all commonly observed. Bookings are strongly recommended and can be made via the operator's website; the departure point at the Professional Fisherman's Boat Ramp in Quindalup is well-signed from the main Geographe Bay Road.
