Norman Lindsay Gallery
Art and myth in the mountains
schedule 1 min read / Updated Jun 2026
Set among two hectares of sculpture-dotted gardens in Faulconbridge, the Norman Lindsay Gallery preserves the home and studio of one of Australia's most celebrated and controversial artists. The National Trust property offers an intimate glimpse into the world of Lindsay, who lived and worked here for over 50 years and whose paintings, etchings, novels and sculptures continue to provoke and delight.
Norman Lindsay created many of his most important works at this property, including the illustrations for his beloved children's book The Magic Pudding. The main gallery displays original oil paintings, etchings, watercolours and model ships, while the studio remains much as Lindsay left it. Free guided tours depart through the day, subject to volunteer availability.
The surrounding gardens feature bronze and stone sculptures placed throughout the grounds, and a heritage rose garden adds seasonal colour. The property is classified by the National Trust and sits on Dharug and Gundungurra Country. Opening hours are Thursday to Monday from 10am to 4pm, with last entry at 3pm. The gallery is closed on major public holidays.
