The Three Capes Track is a 48-kilometre, four-day guided wilderness walk along the dramatic sea cliffs of the Tasman Peninsula. Beginning with a scenic boat transfer from Port Arthur to Denmans Cove, the route traverses the wild coastline toward Cape Pillar and Cape Hauy, passing some of the highest vertical sea cliffs in the Southern Hemisphere with extraordinary Tasman Sea views at every turn.

The walk is managed by Parks Tasmania and limited to a set number of departures per day, keeping the track quiet and the experience genuinely wild. Each night walkers stay in architecturally designed huts with comfortable beds, mattresses, and fully equipped kitchens, a far cry from the traditional Tasmanian bushwalk. The booking fee includes accommodation in the three huts, the boat transfer to the start, a return shuttle from Fortescue Bay, park entry, and a pass to Port Arthur Historic Site.

The terrain is varied and rewarding: coastal heath, temperate rainforest, cliff-edge boardwalks, and the spine-tingling ridgeline walk out to Cape Pillar where dolerite columns plunge hundreds of metres straight to the ocean. A reasonable level of fitness is expected; the track is rated as moderate to difficult in places.

Bookings open well in advance and sell out quickly for summer departures. The official booking portal is the only way to secure a place. A winter promotion price applies for departures in the cooler months.
