Wallaroo Silo Light Show
Free nightly projections on a historic silo
schedule 1 min read / Updated Jun 2026
Every night just after sunset, the grain silos overlooking Wallaroo become a large-scale projection canvas celebrating the Copper Coast's history, Aboriginal Narungga culture, and the work of local artists. South Australia's third permanent silo projection, it launched in December 2020 and has been running nightly ever since - free of charge.
Designed and installed by the illuminart team, the show uses a permanent Pi SYSTEM projection that casts animated sequences across the curved face of the historic silos on Jetty Road. Content rotates every few months, blending community-contributed photographs, Indigenous cultural imagery, and bespoke animations created for local events such as Kernewek Lowender. Visitors can tune to 88.3 FM from their vehicles for the accompanying audio soundtrack, making it a relaxed watch on any evening of the year.
The best viewing positions are from Jetty Road itself or from the carparks near the foreshore. Show start times vary with the season - from as late as 9:00pm in December to as early as 5:45pm in June - so it is worth checking the Visit Copper Coast website for that month's schedule before heading out. The attraction requires no booking and no ticket; it is entirely free. The show runs through all weather except when maintenance is scheduled.
