Wise Wine occupies a dramatic clifftop setting at Eagle Bay, just 10 minutes north of Dunsborough, where the vineyard rows drop away to a sweeping panorama of Geographe Bay. Established in 1992, the estate produces award-winning Margaret River wines alongside small-batch gins and pisco from its on-site distillery, all available to taste at the airy cellar door.
The cellar door occupies a light-filled room with floor-to-ceiling views across the bay, offering three tasting formats: wine-only, gin and spirits, or a mixed selection. Larry Cherubino serves as winemaker, and the estate's cabernet sauvignon and chardonnay have earned consistent recognition in national and international competitions. The distillery, housed separately on the property, produces gin using native botanicals and pisco in what is a rare style for the Margaret River region.
An award-winning restaurant adjoins the cellar door, serving a seasonal menu that highlights local produce - crayfish, aged local beef, and south-west cheeses regularly feature. The venue also hosts weddings and events on the hillside terrace. Wise Wine is a founding member of Australia's South West tourism precinct and part of the broader Geographe wine district, which benefits from cooling sea breezes that extend the growing season relative to the warmer southern Margaret River subregion.
