Flinders Chase National Park covers the rugged western tip of Kangaroo Island, protecting ancient mallee scrub, dramatic coastal cliffs, and some of the island's most iconic natural landmarks. The park is home to a thriving population of echidnas and Kangaroo Island kangaroos, and it forms the cornerstone of the island's conservation story.

The park stretches across more than 73,000 hectares of near-pristine wilderness that was significantly affected by the 2019-20 bushfires and has since been undergoing remarkable natural regeneration. Walking trails range from short boardwalk loops to multi-day hikes, and the visitor centre houses a cafe alongside ranger-staffed information displays on local ecology and fire recovery.

Among the park's highlights is the Cape du Couedic area in the southwest, where a long boardwalk drops toward Admirals Arch, a wave-carved natural rock bridge sheltering a colony of New Zealand fur seals. The Cape Borda lighthouse precinct on the northwest tip offers heritage tours and sweeping views across the Southern Ocean.

Entry fees apply to all visitors and tickets can be purchased online or at the visitor centre. The sealed South Coast Road provides easy access from Kingscote, with the visitor centre approximately two hours' drive from the ferry terminal at Penneshaw.
