Perched on the Victoria Range at around 760 metres, Reed Lookout sweeps over the entire Victoria Valley, the Serra Range, Lake Wartook and the Mt Difficult Range. A short walk from the same car park leads to The Balconies, where two horizontal sandstone shelves jut dramatically from the cliff face like natural viewing decks over the valley floor far below.

The sealed path from the car park to Reed Lookout is fully wheelchair and pram accessible, making it one of the most inclusive vantage points in the Grampians. A fire tower at the summit adds a sense of history, and the platform is especially popular at sunset when the range turns deep amber. Views extend east across the farmland plains and west over the lake system toward the Wimmera.

From the same car park, a relatively easy two-kilometre return walk through low scrub leads to The Balconies. The track is well graded and can be completed in under an hour, though the exposed sandstone outcrops at the end require care in wet conditions. The two layered rock shelves extend over the valley on the southern wall of the range, and the unusual formation is one of the most photographed in Victoria.

Both sites are accessible from the Mount Victory Road, around 35 kilometres from Halls Gap. Coach parking is available and there are no entry fees for either attraction.
